The Word 'Simulator' in the defence field gas generally come to mean a fixed room installation with a price tag of Pfund 100000 upwards. The development of light antiarmour weapons with a throw-away carcass such as M72, and more recently AT4 and LAW80 has generated the need for a simple, cheap transportable simulator to teach the use of the various sight graticules. Price and transportability are particularly critical as these weapons are often intended for use by inexperienced personnel, in an emergency. Consequently each unit will require a training simulator, or easy and regular access to one. The 'AACT' (All Arms Classroom Trainer) has been developed to meet this need, and its principle of opeation will be described in the remainder of this paper. Its novelty lies not so much in use of leading edge technology, but more in the way in which it combines existing techniques to perform its function economically, and reliably.
