The Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan, launched the first Japanese interplanetary spacecraft 'SAKIGAKE' and 'SUISEI', for the purpose of scientific observations of Halley's Comet, in January and August, 1985, respectively. The antenna system for these spacecraft, consists of a high-gain antenna (HGA), a medium-gain antenna (MGA) and a low-gain antenna (LGA). This paper describes the antenna system of these spacecraft.
