A problem has developed with the addition of pipelines to the electrical corridor or electric transmission lines to the 'pipeline' corridors. The pipeline has become part of an electrical circuit. As with the other electrical circuits, induced currents and voltages may exist which can cause corrosion and safety problems. This paper will address the pipeline as an electrical circuit. In so doing, induced voltages in the pipeline will be modeled so that both the electrical engineer and the pipeline engineer can assure that proper measures are taken to avoid potential equipment problems and safety hazards.
