Electronic Warfare is a conflict between military equipments which depend for their function on the properties of electromagnetic radiation. The bandwidth of the conflict extends from the lowest frequencies for radio communication, through VHF, microwave and millimetric bands into the infrared and visible parts of the spectrum. The simulator which is described in this paper is designed to study conflict in the high RF region of the spectrum - from about 100 MHz to a few hundred gigahertz. Equipments which use this region are engaged in Communication, Location, Guidance and Target Discrimination functions. Modern EW equipment is complex, so that no simple test can be used to evaluate its performance. It must be exercised in a battle simulator. Before I describe the simulator, I will explain the problem by describing what would actually take place if aircraft, armed with bombs and missiles, were to be sent in against a ground force protected by radar-controlled guns and anti-aircraft missiles.
