A temting idea of a lithium-sulphur storage battery development appeared to be unrealized till now because of the difficulties of holding liquid sulphur in the cathode space. The investigation process has naturally led to attempts of storage battery development using sulphur bonded with metals as cathode-active material. However, elimination of one problem has led to the necessity of solving new problems, that is, the problem of cathode stabilization and the development of a stable separator, which is a weak point of melted-electrolyte membraneless storage batteries, limiting their service life because of separator failure. We propose an electric vehicle lithium-metallic sulphide storage battery with solid ceramic membrane on lithium-aluminium silicate base. The storage battery is composed of lithium-aluminium anode, cathode of steel, graphite powder and metallic sulphide mix, impregnated by an eutectic mixture of lithium- and potassium chlorides. A solid ceramic membrane on lithium aluminium silicate base, dividing the storage battery into two cavities - anodic and cathodic - is immersed in a melted electrolyte. Current collection from a cathodic unit is carried out by molybdenum current drain.
