The SGEMP response of a satellite or other system exposed to an x-ray pulse can be defined as the time variation of the induced electromagnetic fields in and on the system. The goal of the simulation effort is to design to the apparatus to reproduce, as closely as possible, the electromagnetic response of the system that would be obtained if the simulator's x-ray pulse struck the system in free space. In this paper, the primary concern is with the properties the damper should have to provide an acceptable quality of simulation while minimizing the impact of the damper system on other test chamber apparatus. A frequency analysis was performed to study the system modes.
