This paper mainly investigates an improved artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm on path planning of the unmanned helicopter. First, the dynamic evaluation selection strategy is used to optimize the follow way of on-looker bees for improving the optimization efficiency of the ABC algorithm. Second, the related-track point method is employed to ensure that the original track points satisfy the constraints of path planning, thereby improving the quality of the flight path. Simulation results confirm that the developed path planning method of unmanned helicopter based on improved ABC algorithm has satisfactory performance.
