The drag-free orbit control uses the thrust generated by the propulsion system to compensate for the disturbance of the satellite in real time, so that it can follow the internal free-floating test mass for orbital motion, which can realize the ultra-stable operation of the satellite. And the high-precision maintenance of the satellite orbit can be realized due to the real-time cancellation of the attenuation effect of the disturbance force on the orbit. Compared with the conventional on/off orbit control method, the real-time orbit maintenance can reduce the velocity increment required for drag compensation, thereby appropriately reducing propellant consumption and prolonging the in-orbit service time of satellites. A drag-free orbit control system is studied by taking ultra-low orbit maintenance as the application scenario, and the benefits and scope of application of the drag-free method are analyzed by comparing the simulation of drag-free orbit control and conventional on/off orbit control.
