In order to apply model-based system engineering (MBSE) to the study of metro train traction system, SysML was chosen as the modeling language, M-Design was adopted as the modeling tool, and OFAP (Operational, Functional, Architecture, Physical) method was used to carry out the modeling work. From the perspective of the stakeholders of the metro train traction system, the forward design idea is used to view the traction system as a black box, a gray box and a white box in turn, and the concrete implementation of business, functional, architectural and physical modeling for realizing the metro train traction system is analyzed. The results show that by applying the MBSE idea and adopting the OFAP method, the business analysis, functional decomposition, architectural design and unified description of physical components of the metro train traction system can be realized, and the whole chain tracing between requirements, functions and physics can be realized.
