The article discusses the efficiency of logistics solutions for the operation of urban transport routes. For practical implementation, the approaches of logistic solutions to the efficiency of route transport are proposed, a study of the organization of passenger traffic in Nizhny Novgorod was carried out according to the author’s methodology, which consists in determining the technical and operational indicators of the rolling stock: technical and operational indicators of bus routes; determination of possible passenger traffic; calculation of a productive program for the operation of rolling stock; indicators for assessing the quality of passenger transportation. The main elements of the activity of a motor transport enterprise, which have an impact on market competitiveness, economic efficiency, and the quality of transport services for the population, are highlighted. The market and the demand of the population for passenger transportation have been analyzed. Logistic approaches and methods are used in the organization of urban transport, which make it possible to increase the efficiency of movement of the population at the right time with minimal costs of all types. The developed author’s technique of technological calculation with an economic justification can be used in the practice of developing the urban transport system in Nizhny Novgorod.
