Medan City and Deli Serdang Regency are directly adjacent to the Malacca Strait, which has high fluctuations that cause sea level rise in these waters. Sea level rise can affect coastal geographical conditions, such as shoreline changes, which can potentially cause tidal flooding. This study estimates the Tidal Flood Potential of six sub-districts located in the coastal areas of Medan City and Deli Serdang Regency. Identification of shoreline changes was carried out using Sentinel-2A satellite image observations from 2019–2022 with the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) method to determine the condition of abrasion and sedimentation and modeling the potential for tidal flooding in 2024–2028. The result is abrasion occurs in Percut Sei Tuan and Pantai Labu Subdistricts, Deli Serdang Regency and that concluded the coastal area has the potential to be affected by tidal floods. The tidal flood modeling results show that six sub-districts on the coast of Medan City and Deli Serdang Regency are potentially affected by tidal floods, namely Medan Belawan, Medan Labuhan, Medan Marelan, Hamparan Perak, Percut Sei Tuan, and Pantai Labu. From the modeling results, it is known that 19 existing tidal flood villages are affected by tidal floods when the sea water experiences high tides.
