The chapter mainly introduces the system composition and schemes of typical SSP system represented by MR-SPS. MR-SPS consists of the solar energy collection and conversion subsystem, the power transmission and management subsystem, the microwave wireless power transmission subsystem, the structure subsystem, the attitude and orbit control subsystem, the thermal control subsystem, and the information and system operation management subsystem. The MR-SPS adopts a special configuration, the entire main structure is composed of two north-south main truss structures and multiple up-down main truss structures. The multiple conductive rotary joints installed on the main truss are used to drive the solar subarrays to achieve independent rotation of each solar subarray, greatly reducing the power of single conductive rotary joint. The power cables installed on the truss are used to transmit power to the antenna. The solar arrays of a GW-level MR-SPS consist of 50 solar subarrays and the total length of the solar array structure is about 11,800 m. The diameter of the microwave transmitting antenna is set to be 1 km. The total mass of a GW-level MR-SPS is about 10,000 t. According to the configuration and module design of MR-SPS, the modules that need to be launched and assembled, respectively. A preliminary cost analysis shows that the total cost of research and development, launch, construction, operation, etc. of the SSP system during the entire life cycle is about 18.5 billion $.
