Abstract Modern vehicles contain a multitude of sensors. Several of them, e. g., outside temperature, rain intensity, or brightness probes, are suitable for detecting the current weather condition. These sensors may be further complemented by observing driver’s actions, e. g., activation of low beam lights, selected level of front shield wipers, or state of rear fog light. All this information is observed and combined together to detect hazardous weather situations by means of the Weather Hazard Warning application within vehicles.
