Industry 4.0 is the new way in organising factories aiming towards becoming a ‘smart factory’. It functions in the hope of improving customer satisfaction through greater flexibility and production to increase resource optimization Smart Factories require many different networks of industrial resources including; machinery, robots, warehousing systems and facilities for production. All of which are autonomous – this means they are proficient enough to control themselves when presented with different situations. Industry 4.0 is a concept of the future of manufacturing products, with the product itself finding its way independently through the production process. Smart factory machines and products will be able to communicate with one another in order to increase production but in order for this to happen materials and machines must be interconnected within an “Internet of Things” which is a system of interconnected processing devices and machines that have special attribute that has the ability to transfer information over a network without the need to interact directly with a human.
