Abstract In modern global conditions, transport plays a key and, in some cases, a decisive role in the industrial development of countries. To achieve this goal, Kazakhstan is investing new infrastructure projects in transport infrastructure and systems. Nevertheless, some studies indicate serious problems due to lack of legislation, lack of coordination among government agencies, implementation errors and deficiencies in the sphere of implementation of infrastructure projects. The chapter explores the problems of the development of freight traffic and the state of the modern transport and logistics infrastructure on the territory of Kazakhstan. As active development of transport, together with logistics, will make significant changes in the state of transit, export and domestic transportation of goods between Europe and China through Kazakhstan. The problems are analyzed and the reasons preventing the development of the transport and logistics system (TLS) in the sphere of freight transportation along the international transport corridors passing through Kazakhstan are revealed, ways of increasing their efficiency are suggested. The ways of further development of Kazakhstan’s economy have been determined, which will depend to a large extent on the ability to diversify and create modern transport infrastructure facilities, improve the functioning of the transport and logistics system along international transport corridors as a transit country between China and European countries.
