Target tracking is one of the most significant concerns when it comes to the study of unmanned vehicles. This paper proposes an event-triggered transmission technique where we use unscented Kalman filter (UKF) for the tracking of the unmanned vehicle. Generally, the sensor measurements are used as the positional coordinates and are calculated in the processor which is connected to the sensors associated with the vehicle. As most of the sensors present in the vehicle are battery powered, transmission of sensor values for every instant accounts to the greater power consumption in the sensor. Thereby, it reduces the lifespan of the sensor. This paper aims to reduce the rate of transmission of sensor values from the ground station by which the lifespan of the sensors attached to the unmanned vehicle can be extended.
