In this paper, an new adaptive fault-tolerant control (FTC) method based on disturbance observer(DO) and fault diagnosis observer(FDO) is proposed for flexible satellites with input saturation, moment of inertia uncertainty and actuator failure. The DO and FDO are designed to estimate and reject the vibration disturbance caused by flexible appendage and additive fault of actuator. In order to suppress norm bounded disturbances, a robust state feedback controller is designed. Due to the limitation of the physical structure of the actuator, a new composite adaptive fault tolerant controller is addressed to guarantee the stability of its generalized state for flexible satellites with input saturation. The simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm.
