Bike-sharing services are designed for short trips that are not feasible by car but are too far to walk. There are two types of bike-sharing services: docked (hub-based bike sharing) and dockless. Traditionally, docked bike-sharing systems require users to check out and return their bikes to designated docking stations. Meanwhile, dockless bike-sharing is a relatively new program alongside the docked bike-sharing system. Using the dockless bike-sharing program, bikes can be parked at a bike rack or along the sidewalk within a defined district. This study examines how Dayton area residents perceive dockless bike-sharing's benefits and drawbacks based on their gender. Dayton residents were asked to participate in a survey that was conducted between February and April 2019. In total, 783 responses were collected online through the University of Dayton (UD) News, email, the Dayton Bike Blog, and social media platforms. In this study, data preprocessing and keyword extraction were used for analysis. Tokenization, lemmatization/stemming, and removing stop words are all part of data preprocessing. The keyword extraction process was then conducted using word frequency and collocation analysis. The results show that respondents of both genders praised dockless bikes for being easy to access, easy to locate, and having a large coverage area. Furthermore, both genders expressed concern about safety, particularly helmet use, and praised electric bikes. Female respondents, on the other hand, were pleased with dockless bike programs' pricing. Furthermore, males expressed concern regarding the use of smartphone applications.
