River channels alter their planform, geometric shape and extent over time due to frequent morphodynamic changes and human interventions. Rosetta Branch of the Nile River experiences a reduction in the maximum conveyance capacity due to human encroachments and a prevailing morphological deposition trend. The main objective of this research is to propose rehabilitation scenarios to increase the maximum conveyance capacity of the branch to convey high-flow discharges for future agricultural mega projects irrigation. A two-dimensional numerical model was used to evaluate the morphological and hydrological changes that occurred during a period of 17 years from the year 2003 to 2020 using different flow scenarios. The results show a prevailing deposition trend along the branch with a total volume of 12.5 million m3 leading to a reduction in the maximum conveyance capacity by a percentage of 25%. Three rehabilitation scenarios were proposed to increase the maximum conveyance capacity. It is concluded that the second rehabilitation scenario is the optimum as it increased the maximum conveyance capacity by 66% and reduced inundated land area by 34%.
