This chapter explores the modeling of drivers’ memory using distributed delays and demonstrates how such delays can be incorporated into car-following models. To this end, a benchmark model is taken to present frequency domain ideas, with the aim of analyzing the stability of the dynamics with respect to driver memory parameters and drivers’ sensitivity to speed corrections.
