Abstract This paper reports the effect of interleaving and low velocity impact on the dielectric properties of non-interleaved and nylon-66 nanofiber interleaved carbon fiber (CF)-reinforced epoxy composites. The highest dielectric constant (ε′) of about 600 was achieved for non-interleaved composite laminate whereas, 47% decrease in dielectric constant for the low velocity impacted sample. Whereas, 47% decrease in dielectric constant in low velocity impacted sample. The dissipation factor (tanδ) exhibits a relaxation peak at 600 kHz and high-frequency-dependent AC conductivity (σac) in both the as-cast and impacted composites. The degree of impact damage of the carbon fiber depends upon the impact height and the percentage of interleaving. This indicates that the interleaved composites exhibit good dielectric properties after subjected to impact test.
