Direct lift control has the potential to greatly enhance the landing capabilities of carrier-based aircraft. This study employs the preview control approach to formulate a direct lift controller for carrier-based aircraft. Initially, a direct lift preview controller is crafted, followed by the utilization of a discrete Kalman optimal filter for deck motion prediction. This approach integrates future deck motion predictions and reference glide slope instructions into the direct lift preview controller. Simulation results demonstrate a significant enhancement in the aircraft's ability to track the reference flight path and deck movements, surpassing conventional limits of carrier landing control performance.
