A distinctive feature of the Jovian magnetosphere is a powerful disklike current system—the current disk. There are several models of the magnetic field of this current system. In this paper, we improved the piecewise current disc (PCD) disk model that we constructed earlier [1]. It has been adapted for analytical calculation. The shape of the current sheet surface was modified, which led to a decrease in the root-mean-square deviation of the model from magnetometer data. The model parameters were optimized to improve the accordance with data from Juno and Galileo spacecrafts. The PCD model yielded, on average, a 30% smaller root-mean-square deviation from observations for Juno data and 10% for Galileo data compared with the currently most popular Jupiter current disk model [2], the parameters of which were also optimized for each spacecraft trajectory.
