The rising uptake of electric vehicles (EVs) globally is propelled by growing environmental awareness and concerns about advancements in battery technology, which necessitates innovative solutions to address range anxiety. One significant hurdle is dependence on charging stations, which are still limited in number. This research explores the potential of a solar and wind-powered battery electric vehicle (BEV) to overcome this challenge. By integrating solar panels and miniature wind turbines, the BEV could generate its own electricity, reducing reliance on external charging infrastructure. This concept aligns perfectly with India’s ambitious plans to promote EVs and achieve sustainable transportation goals. This research investigates the feasibility of a solar-wind BEV as a potential solution. The paper acknowledges the limitations of solar energy conversion and explores methods to optimize power generation. It also addresses challenges like weather dependence and aerodynamic design considerations. Overall, this project contributes to the development of self-sufficient EVs, promoting a cleaner transportation future. By mitigating range anxiety and reducing reliance on charging stations, solar-wind BEVs could significantly accelerate the global and Indian EV revolution.
