Soil erosion is a serious global environmental problem as it leads to land degradation, an increase in sedimentation, and pollution in water bodies. In adverse conditions, an increase in the deterioration of soil due to erosion leads to an increase in the susceptibility of land to landslides, which makes the study of erosion important for environmental sustainability. With this in view, the current study focus on studying the occurrence of different erosion processes in soil having different particles sizes (sieved and unsieved) at high rainfall intensity for a rainfall duration of 10 h. For the study, erosion potential by means of soil loss rate, rill network parameters progress based on time-delay images were obtained during the experiment. Particle size distribution of collected sediment and original soil was studied. The results obtained indicate the overall dominance of rill erosion for sieved soil and dominance of sheet or inter-rill erosion for unsieved soil. It was opined that during the rill erosion phase, soil loss rates were high than sheet erosion phase and eroded sediment has high silt and sand fraction.
