Abstract As mentioned at the beginning of this book, there are several options to optimize the filling and discharge of the bucket elevator. The change in transport speed is the best way to improve the operation of the bucket elevator. For this reason, most conveyors nowadays are equipped with a frequency converter. However, characteristics of optimum settings of elevator speed are still missing. Although the characteristics differ in various designs of bucket elevators, we have the opportunity to test various machines and determine the influence of speed on the bulk material filling and discharge methods. The acquired data are naturally influenced by the geometric setup and design of the machines.
