Abstract This article discusses the market for passenger air travel, as well as the distinctive features of low-cost airlines and the specifics of their activities. The author draws attention to the significant growth and popularity of such companies, and asks the research question—is it really cheaper to fly budget airlines than traditional ones? To search for an empirically competent answer to the question posed, the article conducts a scientific and statistical study.
