Abstract Europe has cooperated with the United States and other Partners in the International Space Station (ISS) programme since its inception. In the area of exploration Europe has played a key role, both at the European level through ESA and at the national level through a number of national space agencies in the development of “The Global Exploration Strategy (GES): The Framework for Coordination”717 released in May 2007. ESA has also worked with NASA on a comparative assessment of lunar architecture concepts.
