Road traffic accidents in Thailand was ranked the ninth in the world in 2018 which represents as the leading cause of death, particularly young children. Therefore, this research aims to search for an effect of ages contributed on urban road traffic accident for mortality and injuries reduction through Geographic Information System (GIS). The accident data was gathered from three main databases of (the Royal Thai Police (POLIS), Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Public Health (Death Certificate), Road Accident Victims Protection Company Limited (E-Claim)) and input for spatial analysis based on GIS with Kernel density analysis. The results demonstrated that the accident occurred in the primary and secondary road areas at the city center and most of the vulnerable group are young children in an area with a large amount of travel. Although, the area with a high density of activity and traffic volume leads to the number of accidents, the reduction of speed due to the heavy traffic is associated to less mortality rate. However, considering on different age groups, it was found that most of the accidents occurred among young children which represented more than ¼ of total number of fatalities. Future prevention and intervention for this vulnerable group must be holistically emphasized which includes speed enforcement, road safety education, regulation of protective restraints, and creation of transport policies that minimize risk and severity for this particular group.
