The tandem wing configuration of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) offers advantages such as improved lift distribution and increased payload capacity, but the folding wing design can affect their aerodynamic characteristics. This study investigates the aerodynamic characteristics of UAVs with tandem wing configurations under various asymmetric conditions. Utilizing numerical simulations of Computational fluid mechanics, we explore how wing height differences and asymmetric configurations affect lateral force, rolling moment, and yawing moment. The results reveal that asymmetric wing structures generate additional aerodynamic forces and moments due to uneven pressure distribution across the wings, horizontal stabilizers, and fuselage. Although these variations impact the UAV's performance, their effects are relatively minor compared to the influence of sideslip angle. These findings provide valuable insights for the design and application of small UAVs with asymmetric wing configurations.
