Abstract A GPS-based dock synchronization technique [Reference 1] employing a refined Digital Phase Loop Lock (DPLL) circuitry with a Front End Processor (FEP) is considered as a fine time-management system for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) remote sensing satellites. By transmitting the time error to the ground station, a very expensive, highly accurate on-board clock is not required to determine the precise time at which a particular image is acquired.
