The proposed work is aimed to analyze the performance characteristics of Hartnell governor mechanism available to our UG/PG/Research Scholars in dynamics of machinery laboratory and compare with the theoretical one given by the manufacturer. On the basis of this study, the researchers/scientist/design engineers will be able to select the specific spring length and mass of fly ball to perform the specific task as per specific requirements. The study covers the theoretical as well as practical aspects of the Hartnell governor. This study may be used as a reference guide to researchers/scientists in carrying out their research work in the initial conceptual stage of design.
