In recent years, UAV technology has developed rapidly with continually expanded product demands. This paper proposes a turboshaft- turbofan variable cycle engine scheme, which can serve as a power plant for large UAVs. Firstly, the structure and operating modes of the turboshaft- turbofan variable cycle engine are introduced. A comprehensive performance calculation model for the engine is established using the multi-design point fusion algorithm to calculate the performance parameters at the design points. Finally, through the integration design of aircraft/engine, this paper calculates the parameters of aircraft adapted to the engine, which has a gross weight of 55.15 t, a payload weight of 16 t, a range of more than 2300 km, and a flight time of about 170 min. The results show that the turboshaft-turbofan variable cycle engine proposed in this paper can provide sufficient power for large UVAs. And the simulation model and calculation results established in this paper can provide references for the research of this type of engine and aircraft.
