Over the past few decades, there has been a tremendous increase in the use of rotary machines, which is mostly due to the industrial revolution. These machines are now found in every aspect of daily life, industrial processes, and a wide range of other sectors. The widespread frequency of machine malfunctions poses a challenge that comes with greater utilization. These failures are linked to a wide range of causes, including the wear and tear brought on by constant loading as well as the harsh working conditions these devices frequently encounter. This paper delves into the complex world of rotary machine failures, examining the underlying reasons and exploring a variety of proactive monitoring and failure prediction strategies. These procedures, which are referred to as condition monitoring techniques, are crucial in preventing catastrophic failures. The condition monitoring methods used on a wide range of rotating equipment, such as induction motors, flywheels, milling cutters, and others, are also thoroughly investigated in this study. This work contributes to a greater understanding of preserving the dependability and efficiency of rotary machines in our contemporary society by illuminating these methods and their real-life applications.
