For the megawatt-class space solar power station (SSPS) proposed in China, the demand for ultra-high-power electric thruster power supply and distribution application in space solar power station is discussed. Based on the characteristics of ultra-high power system construction in space solar power station, a technical solution of space ultra-high power electric propulsion supply and distribution using hybrid bus direct drive power supply is proposed, and the application of multi-bus and direct drive power supply for ultra-high power electric propulsion system using modular hierarchical control-demonstrated solar power station (MHC-DSPS) of multi-network hybrid bus + load direct drive power supply system is proposed. The PPU is powered by the primary bus voltage in an unregulated manner, which can significantly reduce the current and transmission loss at the bus end, and at the same time, can reduce the weight and the complexity requirements for the control and management of high voltage bus supply and distribution. The application of SSPS is a strategic choice to solve the current energy and climate change faced by mankind.
