Design of Aircraft is generally based on three stages which are conceptual design, preliminary/detailed design and prototype testing. Some of the problems which are anticipated in flight can be solved during design stage itself by making use of modern technology, that is Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). This chapter gives an overview of what has been achieved in aircraft design using CFD and what are the future challenges which are required to be solved by upgrading CFD technology.
