Abstract The performance of a Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is closely related to the capability of routing protocols to adapt themselves to unpredictable changes of topology network and link status. In simulations, performance studies of routing protocols depend on the chosen mobility model. Consequently, the comparison of the obtained performance results becomes more difficult even it runs on the same simulation environment. To solve this problem it is necessary add a mobility condition, independently, of the used mobility models. In this paper, we define this mobility condition and show how it makes performance comparaison of routing protocols judicious and easier.
