With the rapid development of China’s society and science and technology, automobile has become an indispensable means of travel for people, which has caused a sharp increase in the number of vehicles on the road, and brought great challenges to the city’s transportation system. Traffic congestion has hindered the rapid development of the city. Aiming at the traffic signal timing problem, this paper uses the model to predict the traffic flow. Based on the error estimation model, this paper takes the average vehicle delay as the performance index to optimize the signal intersection timing. Finally, the improved genetic algorithm is used to output the comparison results. With the continuous improvement of computer, software technology and intersection capacity control level, urban traffic signal control has become the research focus of scholars all over the world.
