This chapter gives facts and theorems from linear algebra and graph theory that we use in the following chapters. Python codes are provided to help you learn the basics and to give you a deep understanding of the mathematics. The mathematical materials in this section are important for the analysis and control of multi-agent systems. Since this is a preliminary chapter, you can skip this chapter and move on to Chap. 3 if you want to dive into the main topics quickly. You can return to this chapter anytime when you need materials in linear algebra and graph theory in later chapters.
