To explore the causes of the severity of right-turn vehicle-pedestrian conflicts and the impact of different types of intersections on these conflicts, this study collected 419 samples of vehicle-pedestrian conflicts from four signalized intersections in Xi'an using drones. Seventeen indicators were selected as explanatory variables, considering the heterogeneity of intersection types, based on conflict and intersection attributes. An ordered Logit model was constructed using Propensity Score Matching (PSM) as the indicator for conflict severity to analyze the impact of each explanatory variable on the severity of right-turn vehicle-pedestrian conflicts. The results indicate that factors such as right-turn lane width, conflict area, intersection type, vehicle speed, right-turn traffic volume, changes in crossing speed, companionship, pedestrian flow, electronic devices, and peak hours significantly affect conflict severity.
