The terrain awareness and warning system (TAWS) is an important part of the avionics integrated environmental monitoring system, it can issue warning to avoid dangerous terrain, avoiding controlled flight into terrain (CFIT) occurred in order to ensure flight safety. Study the important component of TAWS - the forward-looking alarm algorithm and composite view. The mathematical model of forewarning is established, and the composite visual display screen based on TAWS system is designed and realized. The forward looking alarm and synthetic visual display are verified by simulation. The results show that the forward-looking alarm algorithm is accurate, and integrated vision screen is clear. They can play an important role in improving flight safety in the congested airspace of the future.
