The dual-spin-stabilized projectile’s mechanism of angular motion is analyzed, taking into account the two pairs of fixed-canards. Based on the non-homogeneous terms of the angle of attack (AOA) equation, the gyroscopic stability and precession feature of a double-spinning projectile are theoretically analyzed. The negative AOA is unraveled under the influence of two pairs of fixed-canards. Furthermore, the dual-spin-stabilized projectile’s angular movements, with the lift-canards fixed at different directions, are described; thus, the phenomenon is revealed whereby the deflection of the lift-canards is opposite to that of the projectile correction direction. Then, the Monte Carlo trajectory simulation is used to verify the angular motion law of a dual-spin-stabilized projectile with fixed-canards. The results of the analysis offer a meaningful strategy to control a class of dual-spin-stabilized projectiles that is not limited to the fixed-canard type.
