This paper focuses attention on the tremendous costs involved in space activities and proposes that these must be examined if projects are to be continued. They can only be justified if a more commercial attitude is taken to cost recovery without increasing the cost of operations. Communications satellites, launching and space stations are investigated to see where low transport costs can be achieved.
