The purpose of this recommended practice is to provide the missile hydraulic and pneumatic component designer with information learned, tested, and substantiated in the correction of problems and failures experienced with seals that are subject to the unique requirements of missile static storage and subsequent dynamic operational conditions. This document is being revised as part of the SAE Five-Year Review policy to add metric equivalents, add a note about temperature controlled inspection, and correct some typographical errors.
