The maintenance organization of a medium size power company fleet operation is described. The changing nature of the maintenance program has required constant study to determine where concentrated effort is needed, and where routines can be eliminated. The new hydraulically powered devices have created many problems, especially in parts procurement and mechanics training. Principles which should be considered in establishing a maintenance program include the need for simple, practical, easily understood policies with an effective means of follow up.
