National Space Development Agency of Japan, NASDA, as an implementing agency in Japan for space applications missions, has successfully developed N series program, so called N-I and N-II vehicles, and completed the program with launching MOS-1 last February. Meanwhile, to enhance an autonomuos capability in design and use of launch vehicles, NASDA is striving to develop H-I and H-II vehicles to meet the demand of future missions. This paper descrives the technical features and current status of H-I and H-II vehicles including the applications.
