This SAE Recommended Practice describes the type of equipment commonly used with towing equipment, provides information to calculate safe steering loads, and outlines design criteria. The following revisions have been made to this SAE standard: 1 Added nine additional items to the Glossary of Terms and expanded/clarified the definitions of several others. 2 Revised to show T-hooks as the primary method of hookup. 3 Revised to show J-hooks as the secondary method of hookup.
