Models capable to estimate the various aspects of perceived comfort of a car seat have been developed in order to predict user's satisfaction of existing seats and to evaluate new seat performances during development. This study focused on explaining car seat users' comfort requirements related to human-seat interaction. The aim was to develop an experimental methodology in order to reduce errors affecting human-seat contact pressure data collection, and to obtain predictive models from multiple regression analysis, correlating subjective evaluations of postural comfort, seat stiffness and wrapping, and body pressure distribution (BPD).
