Proper reconstruction of an accident requires input from witnesses and experts representing different disciplines. The forensic science capability includes lamp filament examination, paint comparisons, glass analysis, blood analysis, hair and fiber examinations. Each of these is described briefly with extent and limitations of conclusions to be offered. It is especially important to be cognizant of these areas inasmuch as the accident scene is a transient phenomenon, subject to alteration and even destruction.
