In many manufacturing tasks the shortening of production times can only be achieved by optimizing the whole manufacturing sequence. Nevertheless main production times can be reduced significantly by single optimizations during particular cutting processes, when the production time determined by the parameters cutting speed and feed rate, is raised in the field of high-efficient machining. The practicability of this strategy depends on the material to cut. In this paper the potentials of a matched tool geometry with regard to the reachable material removal rate and the achievable component quality are presented. The shown research contains the mostly employed manufacturing processes in aircraft component manufacturing like drilling, reaming, milling as well as new machining strategies like circular milling of aerospace alloys.
